While the drone-maker recently launched the Osmo Pocket 4, the latest teaser leak circulating on social media (again) suggests Insta360 is taking a radically different approach than DJI’s.
The leak features a short clip showing the Luna Ultra being “deconstructed“ – curiously appearing as part of a longer, video ad for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. While the origin of the video remains a mystery and its status as an official Insta360 teaser is very much unconfirmed, the footage reinforces the rumors of modular design elements coming to the Insta360 Luna gimbal cameras.
While the clip shows a full teardown, the core rumor points to a detachable gimbal head that functions independently from the handle. This would allow you to mount the camera module remotely while using the handle as a wireless controller, offering creative mounting and framing flexibility that the fixed-body DJI Osmo Pocket 4 might not be able to match.
The dual-cam Luna Ultra and single-cam Luna Pro are expected to officially launch by June 2026, though an earlier debut is looking increasingly likely. Insta360 has also confirmed the upcoming Insta360 Mic Pro, which joins the Luna gimbal cameras to give DJI’s ecosystem a real run for its money.
